MM-Performance student, Michael Johnson was named a finalist in the Big 12 Trombone Conference's Bass Trombone Solo Competition and the American Trombone Workshop's National Bass Trombone Solo Competition.
1st year MM-Performance student, Michael Martinez has been accepted into the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy. He will head to Canada in June to perform Mahler 5 and Shostakovich 5 in addition to studying with Gordon Cherry.
Michael Martinez, Camden Scarborough and Ramiro Cortez will be joining the International Trombone Festival staff as student workers this summer. The 2016 ITF will take place June 8-11 at the Juilliard School in New York City.
Senior Performance major, Camden Scarborough has been selected to be in the Participants Class at the Southeast Trombone Symposium held at Columbus State University. He has also advanced the orchestra mock audition competition.
Senior performance major Camden Scarborough has recently named 2nd alternate in the International Trombone Association's Robert Marsteller Competition and will also be competing in the final round of the Texas State Trombone Symposium's Conn/Selmer Tenor Trombone Solo Competition.
1st year MM-Performance student Michael Martinez performed Lars-Erik Larsson's Concertino for Trombone with the Southwestern University Wind Ensemble. Michael was a recent graduate of Southwestern where he won the concerto competition.
